Kappa Psi was founded in New Haven, Connecticut, on May 30, 1879. As the Fraternity expanded, the Northeast became home to some of its earliest collegiate chapters, graduate chapters, and Province gatherings.
The first Province Assembly was held in Springfield, Massachusetts, on March 6, 1914—the same date the North Atlantic Province, later known as Province I, was established. Province II traced its beginnings to the Middle Atlantic Province, established in 1917.
In 2012, Kappa Psi realigned its Province structure to support the continued growth of the Fraternity. The modern Northeast Province emerged from chapters with roots in the former Province I and Province II, bringing Brothers from New England, New York, and Pennsylvania together under one regional Brotherhood.
Today, the Province continues that legacy by supporting its chapters, developing its members, recognizing achievement, and creating meaningful connections that extend beyond pharmacy school.
